Diagnostic Lab Relocation Maimonides Medical Center Brooklyn, NY
This project included 17,000sf of diagnostic laboratories and offices relocated to a building adjacent to the hospital. The diagnostic laboratories contain multiple specialized units and serve the hospital continuously (24/7). The current Lab functions were maintained and upgraded with added equipment and personnel to greatly increase diagnostic testing volume. The construction work was phased to maintain egress & patient transfer paths and to minimize construction disruptions in an occupied skilled nursing facility. The work included a complete new layout and all finishes for the laboratories and administrative spaces. Accessible restrooms and locker rooms were included. Mechanical and electrical systems were added to serve the laboratories and support spaces. And Plumbing, Fire Protection, and IT systems were also updated.
