Parish Center St. Catherine of Siena Ithaca, NY
The intentions for the new Parish Center for St. Catherine’s included a welcoming environment for both parishioners and visitors, encouragement for and involvement in church and community services, and greening of the site by introducing more vegetative area, designing with greater energy efficiency, and including renewable energy sources on the site. This new 9,000sf facility includes meeting rooms, offices, a commercial kitchen, flexible classrooms which open to a large assembly space, as well as a connection to the church. The roof includes solar panels to furnish up to 95% of the Center’s electrical needs.
