Rhodes Hall Lab Renovation Cornell University Ithaca, NY
Rhodes Hall is an eight-story, 214,000sf building constructed in 1990 and contains multiple departments in the College of Engineering. This renovation of 3,500sf on the fifth floor will modernize the research laboratory space for new faculty hires within the Computer & Information Sciences Department. It will create flexible lab spaces to accommodate faculty reassignments involved in various types of research including robotics. The project includes re-design of the interior partitions, ceilings & lighting, and updated finishes throughout. It includes re-configuration of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, incorporating ventilation capacity for soldering stations, 3-D printers, and a laser cutter, as well as other lab services. It includes laboratory casework, sinks, and furnishings.
